An overview of legal structures and charitable status, covering:
- Understanding your organisation’s legal structure: Unincorporated or incorporated, charitable or not charitable
- Decisions when setting up a new organisation
- Deciding whether to convert from unincorporated to incorporated
- Advantages and disadvantages of company limited by guarantee and the new charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) structures
- Implications of legal structure for the governing document (constitution), duties of the management committee/board, and accountability
