6th April – 28th April

A charming and complementary double bill by two very different local artists:

Frances Coombs
‘Sport and Play’

A painter of pleasure! Humankind in entertaining form - this show sparkles with the idiosyncratic humour of Beryl Cook, as everyday folk pursue their interests and pastimes with a nudge of naughtiness and a wink of wit. Ceramics, mosaics, textiles and prints also feature.
All works are very reasonably priced for sale.

Maurice Tobias
‘Retrospect: My Latest Paintings’

This Westcliff artist is dedicated to the challenge of capturing the true essence of the world about him. Paintings are produced for the pleasure they bring, not the monetary rewards of selling. Watercolours and Oils are used with sensitive skill in rendering the landscape familiar to us all: local land and marine subjects feature, with an emphasis upon those evocative aspects so easily missed.

If you have ever considered helping out in your community or would simply like to find out more about becoming a Trustee our bite size sessions are just what you need!
Your skills and experience could be just what local community groups are looking for to assist in the running of their organisations. If you would like to make a real difference and can commit a little of your time we would like to hear from you.
SAVS are holding three introductory events during March, April and May, each made up of two bite size two-hour sessions. Those attending are invited to both sessions during each month. These sessions will provide potential Trustees with a range of information and guidance to help them understand what being a Trustee means and to see what a valuable and rewarding experience it can be. There is absolutely no obligation - come along and find out more!

All sessions will be held at SAVS Centre, 29-31 Alexandra Street, Southend-on-Sea, SS1 1BW
