International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the economic,
political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some countries IWD is a national holiday.

The first IWD was run in 1911. The IWD Global Centenary is in 2011. International Women's Day has been observed since the early 1900's.
