Safeguarding Boards Lay Member
Company: Southend LSCB & SAB
Description: Southend’s Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) and Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB) are responsible for making sure agencies work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and adults in Southend on Sea.
Southend LSCB and SAB are looking to promote a new lay member to each board. The Lay Member supports stronger public engagement in the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children and young people in Southend, and provides a community oversight and scrutiny of decisions and policies made by the Board. Their main duty will be to attend the Board meetings and other sub-groups as appropriate. Expenses will be reimbursed to cover travel and other costs.
You will need to be a confident and effective communicator with the ability to challenge the Boards and their partner agencies constructively.
