The Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) in Southend is vast - SAVS alone has 340 member organisations. In these current economic times when funding is becoming increasingly difficult to find, we think it's vital that VCS groups work in partnership, where possible and appropriate, in order to survive and continue to serve their communities.
The first step to working in partnership is to get to know other groups, identify who you could potentially work with to deliver services, get to know them and build up a trusting relationship.
To this end SAVS have developed Thematic Groups to bring groups working in specific areas together to start this process. We know you are all busy people so we have kept the sessions to two hours and each one will run once a quarter. Each session will comprise of updates from groups, a key speaker of a topical and related subject, with plenty of time for networking.
