The AdVance Partnership
Southend Adult Community College working in partnership with Southend Association of Voluntary Services are, once again, able to offer a new range of training courses for the local Voluntary and Community Sector organisations. Most of our courses are held at SAVS, Alexandra Street Southend. Costs of half day courses are generally £15.00 per person, £35.00 per person full day including lunch and £50.00 for accredited courses. Please see the attachment below for full details.

Training with Relate South Essex (and The Family and Relationship Centre)
Are you the sort of person who everyone shares their problems with? Are you good at listening? Have you ever thought of becoming a relationship counsellor?

The Family and Relationship Centre is the training arm of Relate South Essex and we are offering introductory and full courses in counselling commencing September 2010. All courses are registered with AQA (a national awarding body). Classes taught in a busy counselling centre in Basildon by experienced counsellors. Participants have excellent opportunities to experience a "live" centre, work within the rooms and there are some opportunities for placements in the final Diploma year.

AQA Introduction to Counselling Concepts - 15 weeks x 2 hours per week

AQA Intermediate Certificate in Counselling Skills - 20 weeks x 3 hours per week

AQA Advanced Diploma in Counselling - One Saturday per month for two years

Adult Learners Week - Southend Adult Community College with Southend Libraries have put together a programme of short training sessions for Adult Learners Week 15-29 May. InterAct are offering free training designed to help organisations to understand and promote good mental health and meet the needs of clients with low self-esteem and confidence.  The training usually costs over £3000 can be tailored to fit the needs of the organisation.
