60’s Jukebox Band Night raises over £800 for Age Concern Southend

Published on: October 13, 2023

Age Concern Southend travelled back in time to the swinging 60’s last week, welcoming a crowd of people to the Community Hub, Hamlet Court Road, to enjoy an evening with the 60’s Jukebox Band.

The band played popular hits including, The Beatles’ Can’t Buy Me Love, Downtown by Petula Clark, Sweet Talking Guy by The Chiffons, Lulu’s Shout and I’m a Believer by The Monkees.

With thanks to the 60’s Jukebox Band, attendees and supporters, the event helped raise £815 for Age Concern Southend, a local independent charity who provide services to support and empower older people living in Southend and surrounding areas. Such services include a Dementia Day Centre, Befriending and the Community Hub.

Events are held regularly at the Community Hub for all ages, including an exciting programme of Christmas events! If you would like to learn more, please visit www.ageconcernsouthend.co.uk
