A Successful Year for an Important Charity

Impressive 2024 statistics for Southend charity

Southend in Sight have collected the data for all their charity work carried out in 2024 to impressive results, cementing the impact these services have on Southend’s visually impaired community.

The Southend in Sight centre located on Hamlet Court Road, helped 477 individuals last year in 1,433 sessions of support – including tech support, form filling and regular well-being phone calls. 134 different activity sessions took place including regular coffee mornings, ‘Fun Fri
choir sessions, ‘Talking Book Club’, line dancing, and ten pin bowling club. One-off events are often organised for children, working age and over 65’s. Not forgetting the impact of the charity’s Eye Clinic Liaison Officer, Tracey, at Southend Hospital who supported over 1,096 patients.

CEO Lucy Martin, said:

“Every year I am so impressed by my team of volunteers and staff we the work they do supporting local visually impaired people I know that our personalise service we provide is much appreciated, and spurs us on to continue doing our best in 2025.”
