Breathe Easy members enjoyed celebrating their birthday, singing along with Marie to music from Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond and Dean Martin to name but a few.

Nigel, Shelia and May set the group up in memory of May’s husband 17 years ago to provide people living with respiratory conditions an opportunity to make new friends who understand what it is like to struggle to breathe and to learn more about living with a lung condition.

The group is regularly attended by a community nurse and a member of the pulmonary rehabilitation team who are only too happy to help answer any questions people may have and sign post them to services that can help.

Breathe Easy members will always make you feel welcome at their monthly meetings and if you have any spare time on your hands you may like to join Jan on the committee so that the group can continue to support local residents.

The group meets on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 1pm to 3pm at St Edmunds Hall, St Edmunds Close, Southend-on-Sea, SS2 4AS.

There is a small charge of £2 per session to help cover hall hire and light refreshments.
