Description

HEADSUP – WHO WE ARE
HeadsUp provides emotional support and practical job seeking advice to people in Essex, Southend and Thurrock. This includes helping people to improve their digital skills where needed, to enhance their ability to apply for jobs online.
Our participants are currently unemployed and will have experienced some form of common mental health problem, but with our help, feel ready to job search or find appropriate employment and training. HeadsUp is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund.
We know that the idea of getting back to work after a period of unemployment can be really daunting. However, we believe that returning to work or education can provide you with loads of amazing benefits such as a boost in self-confidence, purpose, an opportunity to make new friends and the chance to learn new skills.
BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE WITH 1-2-1 SUPPORT AND WORKSHOPS
We offer support and guidance, and you can work 1-2-1 with one of our Peer Support Workers. They are with you every step of the way and as they have had their own experience of mental health problems and unemployment, they are really well placed to help you.
In addition, you can attend our workshops designed to explore and boost your wellbeing and resilience. This is an important part of HeadsUp because it’s important to figure out how you feel about starting a course or returning to work emotionally.
You can attend our series of  ‘Skill Pods’ which are tailored sessions to develop practical skills such as using IT to job search, interview techniques and writing a great CV
