About the project
The Southend YMCA SOS Bus is a nationally recognised service. It was honoured to receive the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service (the MBE for voluntary service) and the High Sheriff of Essex Cup for furthering community safety.
The bus has a proven track record of supporting people using the night-time economy (in Southend and Basildon) offering first aid, a listening ear, and information, advice and guidance.
The bus is regularly seen at large scale events across Essex providing a place of safety and first aid, from outdoor festivals through to the Christmas lights switch-on.

How we can help
The SOS Bus is a pillar of the community, providing services for Councils including Southend Borough Council and Basildon Council since 2005.
The SOS Bus is dedicated to the advancement of first aid knowledge across Essex and has been providing a range of courses to help local individuals and organisations to meet health and safety requirements, empower their personnel and ultimately, save lives.
