Calling All Older Veterans…

Age Concern Southend is holding a ‘get together’ for any and all older veterans (anyone who has served in HM Armed Forces) on Monday 11th December 2023, 3-4pm.

Rob Woolley Age Concern Southend CEO said, “We know that Southend has a lot of older veterans and many of the various associations they used to be part of have disappeared or have very few members left – so we want to help connect them.”

Rob served 20 years in the Royal Air Force and served in various places. He was involved in bringing injured servicemen back from the Falklands War. He served in Northern Ireland, Berlin and in Holland at the NATO Headquarters, amongst other places. He also served in the Middle East during the first Gulf War and later in Bosnia.

Any and all older Veterans are invited to drinks and mince pies on Monday 11th December 2023, 3-4pm at The Community Hub in the Havens building, 138-140 Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, SS0 7LW.

There will be a discussion to explore what older veterans need. And lots of opportunities to meet and talk with other older veterans.
