The Ironworks Hosts Milton Ward Get Together Event!

Last week, The Ironworks hosted the highly anticipated Milton Ward Get Together event, and what a success it was! Residents, organisations, and community groups gathered in great numbers, creating an atmosphere buzzing with excitement.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity for attendees to discover the amazing array of opportunities available locally and throughout the wider community. Whether it was learning about new projects, connecting with like-minded individuals, or exploring potential collaborations, there was something for everyone at the Milton Ward Get Together.

One of the highlights of the event was the presence of beneficiaries of the Small Sparks Funding program. These passionate community members showcased and discussed the initiatives they had either planned or already undertaken. Their presentations emphasized the incredible impact and value that the Small Sparks funding brings to our community. However, the event wasn’t just about presentations and discussions but about forging connections and building relationships. The Milton Ward Get Together fostered an environment where people had the chance to interact and engage with others who shared their interests and passions. New connections were made, and meaningful conversations took place, leaving attendees feeling inspired and motivated.

The positive feedback from the attendees was overwhelming, with many expressing their desire for more networking sessions like this in the future. Elaine, one of the participants, summed up the sentiments perfectly, saying, “Perfect, did just what was needed and wanted—more!”

Plus more feedback from the session; “Excellent, need more of these networking sessions. Well resourced” and “Excellent, need more of these”.

The success of the Community Builders event is a testament to the power of community engagement and collaboration. When individuals and organisations come together, incredible things can happen. The Milton Ward Get Together served as a reminder of the strong bonds that exist within our community and the endless possibilities that lie ahead when we work together. So, let’s keep the momentum going and continue to support and nurture our community. Together, we can create a future that is vibrant, inclusive, and full of opportunities. Stay tuned for more exciting events and initiatives coming your way!

Kayleigh Wilkins, Victoria – Sponsored by St Vincent’s Southend

Kayleigh said “Chiquitta’s event was really well attended and I noticed a lot of new connections being made between everyone. It was very informative and most people had brought their flyers and information for what they do to share with everyone.

Everyone engaged in the whole event and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. People also shared what they like about the ward, and what community resources are available and Chiquitta shared more about the Small Sparks funding.

People were commenting on how great the event was and didn’t realise how much was going on within Southend.
