An exciting opportunity has arisen to bring your experience and knowledge of fundraising to help change the lives of adults with acquired brain injury. You will join our fundraising team on a permanent basis 37.5 hrs per week. In return, you will receive a salary of £24,000 plus benefits.
For over 35 years Headway Essex has specialised in supporting people living with acquired brain injury. Our person centred approach means our clients are at the heart of the work we do, providing support and advice at every stage of their recovery post hospital discharge.
As a proactive charity, whose services are always in demand, the Fundraising team raise vital funds to enable us to continue providing and improving these valued services across Essex.
We’re looking for an ambitious, confident and engaging individual who has proven experience of; working with community fundraisers to maximise income generated through community activities; and building new relationships with donors, corporate and other organisations to develop sustainable funding sources. You will be based in Colchester, but will be required to travel to work across Essex.
Recruit, manage, and support volunteer fundraisers within the community, helping them to reach their fundraising potential
Identify and develop new relationships with corporate supporters and fundraising groups across Essex
Inspire and bring out the best in our supporters, corporate partnerships and fundraising groups, engaging them with the work of Headway Essex over the long term
Be the central point of contact for all fundraising enquiries and oversee the donor and supporter stewardship process.
Be an ambassador for Headway Essex in the community, representing Headway Essex at charity events, cheque presentations and talks.
Skills and experience required:
Educated to GCSE or equivalent level Grade C, English and Math.
Proven experience of meeting fundraising targets
Excellent ability to motivate, inspire and influence people
Strong networking skills and proven ability to build long-lasting relationships with a range of professionals and community fundraisers.
Strong operational and organisational abilities and skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and other organisations.
You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work to deadlines whilst prioritising workload.
You will have proficient IT skills.
Hold a valid UK driving licence and be a car owner as you will be required to travel across Essex.
Have a flexible approach to duties and varied work patterns to accommodate evening and weekend work as required.
