Opportunity for Your Area: Funded Employment Support for 16–21 Year Olds (NEET)

Published on: February 25, 2026

Please see below for information from NEET on this opportunity:

We wanted to reach out and let you know that we are currently bidding to deliver a fully funded programme designed to support 16–21-year-olds who are NEET into meaningful work experience and long-term employment progression.

As part of this bid, we’re proposing to offer:

  • 6‑month employment placements for young people
  • Employers fully funded to support 25 hours per week at National Minimum Wage
  • All costs covered, meaning no financial burden on local employers
  • Face‑to‑face training package, including support with:
    • Soft skills and workplace behaviours
    • Money management
    • Understanding employment and expectations
    • Digital skills for work
  • Ongoing wraparound support to help young people sustain and progress

We’d really like to understand whether this is something that your area would benefit from.
Any local insight, current challenges, or priority needs would be extremely valuable as we shape the proposal.

The potential start date is April, so we’re gathering feedback now to ensure the programme is tailored to local needs.
