Safe Steps is a new and forward-thinking charity that works with, and for all survivors of domestic abuse, across Southend-on-Sea and in the wider Essex area. We are seeking to recruit an inspiring and committed leader, to take on a senior role as the Crisis Service Manager.

The post holder will be expected to:-

Lead the delivery of crisis intervention work for adult survivors of domestic abuse, including Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) and Domestic Abuse Practitioner (DAP) services, and refuge provision for women and children who are affected by domestic abuse.

Extensive experience of working with survivors of domestic abuse, those who experience multiple forms of discrimination, and disadvantage is an essential requirement. Experience of project management in substance, mental health and homelessness sectors are also highly desirable.

Applications are welcome from candidates with relevant qualifications; however Safe Steps is committed to staff training and development and with that in mind, is also prepared to consider applications from those candidates with the necessary experience, of working with survivors of domestic violence or complex needs, who may require some additional training.
This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and open to women only. Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR), Schedule 9 (Work; Exceptions), Part 1 (Occupational Requirements) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Circa £ 28,221 per annum (depending on experience)

Annual leave: Commencing at 25 days per annum
