Safe Steps – Domestic Abuse Practitioner

Westcliff based Safe Steps is looking to recruit additional staff to its Crisis Centre providing services for women who are affected by domestic abuse.

The ideal candidate will need to be an experienced domestic violence practitioner, or have relevant transferable professional experience, highly motivated and committed to making a difference to the safety and promotion of healthy relationships for women.

Relevant experience of working with women in crisis is essential as is a knowledge of the domestic / sexual abuse sector. In addition, the ability to engage with women through advocacy and ongoing support is key. Safe Steps is committed to training and development and is prepared to fund relevant training and accreditation going forward.

Due to the nature of the role, this vacancy is open to women only.

Occupational requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies

Salary: Further information upon request, but subject to qualifications and relevant experience – circa £20,000-£23,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Annual leave: Commencing at 25 days per annum
