Safe Steps are looking to recruit additional staff to its services for survivors of domestic abuse in the borough of Southend and Essex. The post will have a specific focus on Housing and the prevention of Homelessness.
The ideal candidate will need to be an experienced domestic violence practitioner, highly motivated and committed to making a difference to the safety and promotion of healthy relationships for women. You will have a solid understanding of the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) agenda and take an intersectional approach to problem solving.
Relevant experience of working with women in crisis is essential as is a knowledge of the domestic / sexual abuse sector. In addition, the ability to engage with women through advocacy and ongoing support is key. IDVA or DAPA accredited is preferred – however Safe Steps is committed to training and development and is prepared to fund relevant training and accreditation going forward.

Salary: Further information upon request, but subject to qualifications and relevant experience – circa £21,074-£25,643
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Annual leave: Commencing at 25 days per annum
