Safe Steps is a new and forward-thinking charity that works with, and for all survivors of domestic abuse, across Southend-on-Sea and in the wider Essex area. We are seeking to recruit a dynamic trainer, with an entrepreneurial flair, to develop our training service to become a social enterprise.
The post holder will be expected to:-
Develop, and participate in the delivery of training to a wide variety of professional services, schools, colleges, business partners, and community organisations, to improve awareness, recognition and response to domestic abuse and all forms of VAWG. Promote our training offer across Southend-on-Sea, Essex and the South of England and establish a social enterprise model that supports our mission and core values.

The TD Coordinator will be an experienced trainer, who also has experience of working with survivors of domestic abuse. An ability to work independently whilst nurturing close working relationships with the wider Safe Steps team is essential. This post offers flexible working and an opportunity to work of site, delivering training in Essex and the South East of England where necessary.

Applications are welcome from candidates with relevant qualifications; however Safe Steps is committed to staff training and development and with that in mind, is also prepared to consider applications from those candidates with the necessary experience, of working with survivors of domestic violence or delivering training, who may require some additional skills.

This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and open to women only. Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR), Schedule 9 (Work; Exceptions), Part 1 (Occupational Requirements) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

Hours: 28 hours per week

Salary: Circa £ 26,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)

Annual leave: Commencing at 25 days per annum
