– Full Time (shifts) based in Southend-on-Sea

SOS Domestic Abuse Projects is a Southend based charity working with victims of domestic abuse, with over 40 years’ experience of service delivery. As from April 2019 we will be delivering a single point of access for the whole of Essex, so women, men, young people and children affected by domestic abuse can get access to the right support services for them.
You will be on the frontline of a dynamic 24hr confidential helpline providing support, help, advice by phone, email, text and online, assessing and processing referrals ensuring the flow and accuracy of information meets the standards set. You will have experience of inputting information and working with a range of agencies, together with knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse and the impact it has on victims and their families.

Provide a high-quality first point of contact all victims of domestic abuse, ensuring that they are referred to appropriate services. You will identify and assess the risks to and needs of victims and their families providing emotional and practical support and information in relation to legal options, safeguarding, housing, health and finance.

This role is suitable for individuals with experience of helpline work either as a volunteer or a paid worker / or advice and support work with children, vulnerable adults and/or families. Experience working with victims of domestic abuse or in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults would be advantageous

Salary: Further information upon request, but subject to qualifications and relevant experience: circa £20,000-£21,000 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per 8 days (8am – 8pm, Monday to Sunday)
Annual Leave: 25 days per annum
Pension: Nest Stakeholder Pension (3% Employer Contribution)
