Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (Accredited IDVA) – Full Time

Westcliff based SOS Domestic Abuse Projects is looking to recruit additional staff to its Crisis service for women who are affected by domestic abuse in the borough of Southend.

The ideal candidate will need to be an experienced domestic violence practitioner, highly motivated and committed to making a difference to the safety and promotion of healthy relationships for women.

Relevant experience of working with women in crisis is essential as is a knowledge of the domestic / sexual abuse sector. In addition, the ability to engage with women through advocacy and ongoing support is key. IDVA or DAPA accredited is preferred – however SOSDAP is committed to training and development and is prepared to fund relevant training and accreditation going forward.
Due to the nature of the role, this vacancy is open to women only.

Occupational requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies

Salary: Further information upon request, but subject to qualifications and relevant experience – circa £21,074-£25,643

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Annual leave: Commencing at 25 days per annum
