Southend Libraries Volunteer Opportunity

Southend Libraries are looking for volunteers for the Summer Reading Challenge 2024. This role is open to anyone aged 14 and over.

The volunteer role will be to encourage children to participate in the annual Summer Reading Challenge and talk to them about the books they are reading. Students can use this opportunity to gain work experience within their community. It’s also a great opportunity to gain new skills and self-confidence.

We ask our volunteers to volunteer for approximately 10 days (from 9.45am – 3:15pm. including a one-hour lunch break) although they may be able to do more days if extra sessions are available. Poster are attached for promotion.

The deadline for applications this year is: Saturday 15th June 2024

Owing to a high demand for places, each library has a maximum number of volunteers they will need, applications received earlier will be given priority.
