POST TITLE: Communications Assistant
POST SALARY: £16,010 – £17,500
HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week (the post will require some weekend & evening working)
You may be required to work at any Trust Links project site and travel around the area as needed

REPORTS TO: Communications Manager
Trust Links is a local charity that aims to support people and build communities. It was established by local people to address mental health needs in the Southend area in 2000, and was registered as a charity and limited company in 2002. We enable people to work together to improve mental health and wellbeing and promote, support, inspire and cultivate wellness and sustainable living.

The Postholder will be required to:
• Support the delivery and continuous updating of Trust Links website
• Support the continuous updating of Trust Links social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
• Produce flyers, leaflets, posters to promote the work of Trust Links
• Support the delivery of Trust Links events, fundraising and promotional opportunities around the area


Offline Marketing
• Produce flyers, leaflets, posters and other printed materials to promote the work of Trust Links
• Assist with the co-ordination of design and print work
• Promote Trust Links and its various projects at community events, fairs, professionals events, supermarkets and other stalls as requested
• Distribute Trust Links promotional materials in the community as appropriate

Online Marketing
• Support the development of the Trust Links website
• Ensure the Trust Links website is continuously reviewed and updated to communicate our work to the public, potential service users, partners and funders
• Lead the continual updating of Trust Links social media including sourcing pictures and stories and generating interest in Trust Links social media feeds
• Respond to relevant posts on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms as appropriate to protect and promote the reputation of Trust Links
• Keep databases up to date using CRM

• Support the delivery of community and fundraising events run by Trust Links including supporting the set up and logistics of the events

Community Fundraising
• Support the delivery of community fundraising events

• Support Communications Manager and Fundraising Manager with agreed administrative duties
• Adherence to data security requirements in line with current legislation, and remaining conversant with how any changes impact the role
• Ensure Safeguarding and Health and Safety requirements are met line with Trust Links Safeguarding and Health and Safety Policies and escalate concerns about the well-being of service users to the appropriate agency
• Participate in regular supervision with the Communications Officer and take responsibility for continuing self development, participating in training and development activities as appropriate
• The role will require weekend and evening working, for which TOIL can be claimed as agreed with line manager
• Any other duties, as agreed with line manager
