Find your Active: Celebrating what has been achieved in 2023

Published on: December 1, 2023

It’s time to celebrate! As we wave goodbye to 2023, it provides an opportunity to celebrate all that you have achieved whether that being goals you have successfully completed or new challenges faced. Looking back can be a great way to feel proud of the progress made and when starting your active journey it’s the small steps and achievements that make the biggest difference!

Finding the activity that’s right for you, is different to everyone, so it’s important not to compare your progress or experiences with others. As you take time to reflect on your journey in 2023, why not stop and think about who has helped you along the way? Active Essex is lucky enough to work with many clubs, groups and individuals who make a difference to the lives of those in our communities but it’s always good to make sure they feel appreciated with a big thank you!

The Essex Activity Awards will be taking place this December and it’s a chance to put a spotlight on some fantastic individuals and groups who have helped their community find their active. There are a range of categories that will be highlighted on the night like Active Workplace of the Year, Sports Personality of the Year and the Essex ActivAte Provider of the Year! These shortlisted nominees have been recognised for going above and beyond this year and are an inspiration for those looking to also help others get active.

Active Essex has more to celebrate this year with the launch of the Move With Us campaign which is working towards getting young people active and finding enjoyment in movement. This has been an amazing opportunity to engage with young people and also work with GB gymnast Courtney Tulloch who is an inspiring example, showing what you can achieve when you find something you love!
