The Tender

Garon Park CIC (GP CIC) in association with Wellbeing at Garon Park (WBGP) are seeking offers of interest to operate the Hive Nature School at Garon Park

Garon Park CIC

Our Mission: is one of Levelling Up – Connecting Communities – by providing destination quality facilities for all.

Our Business Plan is: to hire those quality facilities to partner organisations and local community groups, with the aim of making Garon Park a long term, sustainable ‘go to’ destination for team sport and community wellbeing, where local people can flourish in a safe, secure and well-run environment.

Our Focus is: Youth – our vision is to offer local youth guided pathways through our environment, where they have a voice and influence; feel safe and confident; and able to learn and flourish surrounded by nature.

Our Agenda is: Conservation – providing a managed environment where people, plants, birds and native animals and invertebrates co habit the Park for the mutual benefit.

And Our Objectives are to promote sustainable life style, sport, health and wellbeing activities and fill major gaps in the local provision, by providing:

  • the best possible multi use facilities;
  • skilled activity development structures in Sport, Education & Wellbeing;
  • creating a co-operative, progressive and financially sustainable model for organisations to operate on a single site;
  • include and partner with the most significant organisations in the area;
  • reflecting local needs and gaps in the market;
  • promoting to the Member organisations and local community.

 

Objectives the Hive Nature School

 Play, Education, Wellbeing, Volunteering & Conservation

To provide a range of opportunities for the community and local organisations to access and engage with nature to support their play, learning, health and wellbeing.

To support the overarching conservation aims of the site by following the designated programmes designed by GP CIC’s conservation lead.

To maintain a volunteer presence to deliver the conservation aims of the site.

To maximise engagement and usage of the Nature School by local residents, ensuring that those with the highest level of need based on health, financial poverty, wellbeing and disability are considered within the offer and enabled to access services.

To run a sustainable businesses for an initial 3 years (subject to T&Cs), which generates sufficient income to pay the annual ground rent of £20k pa (increasing annually in line with average national inflation)

 

The Tender process

Tender process starts End April 2024

All tenders to be received by midnight on 31st May 2024 to email – caroline.reynolds@garonparkcic.com

Tender review – 2 weeks

June 2024

Successful applicant notified 30th June 2024

Contracts signed by mid July

Tenders will be considered based on the following considerations

  1. Sustainability and track record of the organisation applying to run the Nature School – Organisations will need to provide evidence of their plans for the space, with clear business plans showing financials and operational plans (60%)
  2. Community engagement and inclusivity – organisations will need to demonstrate how they will engage with the local community and ensure awareness and participation by key target groups. (20%)
  3. Partner Engagement – Garon Park CIC operates the 32 acre site and it is important that all organisations work collaboratively to ensure both operational efficiency and also the success of all partner offers are maximised. Organisations will need to demonstrate how they will work with the partners to ensure best use of the space, that health and safety requirements and all policies are adhered to and the site management is aware of all plans. (5%)
  4. Volunteer Engagement – Garon Park CIC is committed to offering volunteer opportunities as a way of supporting individuals health and wellbeing. The successful organisation will need to demonstrate how they will recruit and retain volunteers as part of their programme of delivery. (5%)
  5. Evaluation – Organisations will need to provide information to Garon Park CIC relating to the numbers attending sessions and the demographics of attendees which will form part of the overall data collection on a monthly or quarterly basis for the site. The organisation will need to demonstrate how they will collect data and submit it to GPCIC. (5%)
  6. Maintenance and development of the Nature School – Organisations will be responsible for working with the site management team including: the operations Manager, Conservation Officer and volunteer co-ordinator and Site maintenance officer to ensure the site is safe and managed in line with the conservation plan and operational plans. Mowing and strimming will be completed by the Garon Park CIC team but all other maintenance will be the responsibility of the successful organisation.(5%)
  7. Demonstration of ability to pay 6 months rent in advance.
