Community Grant allows for continued support to local charity

Southend in Sight has been awarded a grant of £9,712 from the Community Investment Board to run drop-in sessions for the local blind, and partially sighted people.
The grant has enabled the charity to continue to offer specialist sessions around help with form filling and testing low vision and kitchen equipment. A recent cookery demo, run by visually impaired staff has been a particular hit. Anne made a slow cooker chicken curry
while Lucy B helped everyone make pizzas, before cooking them in the air fryer.
CEO, Lucy Martin, says; “We are so pleased with the response to our drop-in sessions for the visually impaired community, giving people the chance to chat with others in a similar situation has really helped improve well-being. Our thanks to the Community Investment
Board for supporting us with this project”
