Southend Tamil Association was established 02.06.2010. The motive for this association was to create awareness about Tamil within our community and also to provide a platform to learn and experience the language and its culture.
The STA formed a Tamil School formerly named “Southend Tamil School” currently named “Southend Tamil Association’s School”, on 25th September 2010, with the aspect of providing Tamil education to children of the community. In the general format of a state-funded school, the Tamil school has a hierarchy of teachers, headteacher, assistant teachers, secretaries and PAs. Classes are conducted in line with national school calendars, both in person and online. Extra-curricular activities are offered alongside the language classes, and students are prepared for national exams and GCSE/A-Level examinations, conducted by UK registered exam boards.
