MISSION STATEMENT
The Southend Mosque serves the spiritual, religious, and communal needs of Muslims in the community by means of nurturing their faith, upholding their values, and fostering the well-being of the surrounding community through worship, charity, education, outreach, and civic engagement.
About Southend Mosque
Southend Mosque was established in 1976 by purchasing a 100-year-old church at 191-197 West Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, to change its use for a mosque in order to cater for the growing Muslim community. It was the foundation of first Masjid in Southend East Essex. A charity, Southend Islamic Trust, was registered on 29 April 1976, Registration number 270870.
The Southend Mosque promotes the faith of Islam and the Islamic Charitable Organisations in the United Kingdom, and more particularly in South East Essex. Meetings are at Southend Mosque, 191-197 West Road, Westcliff.
