Free Community Support for Groups and Leaders

Published on: April 29, 2025

Civil Society Consulting CIC is a non-profit dedicated to advancing health, equality, and social solidarity by supporting UK civil society.

We are delivering Nurturing Grassroots, a fully funded three-year capacity-building programme for grassroots organisations and Community Interest Companies (CICs), thanks to the support of the National Lottery Community Fund.

Over three years, 120 organisations across the East, North East, North West, and Midlands regions can sign up to receive tailored guidance in four cohorts to strengthen governance, fundraising, impact measurement, and sustainability.

What’s Included?

  • Tailored one-to-one support to co-produce tangible outcomes such as funding applications, impact reports, or refreshed websites.
  • Expert-led group workshops covering income generation, theory of change, masterclasses, gatherings, M&E, website and communications development, social media and filmmaking.
  • Leadership & Wellbeing Coaching will provide 24 social action leaders with up to six individual one-hour sessions with a professional leadership coach, while a further 90 leaders will have access to group learning and wellbeing sessions.

If you are a grassroots organisation or CIC and would like to take part in Nurturing Grassroots or find out more, contact nurturinggrassroots@civilsocietyconsulting.co.uk or visit www.civilsocietyconsulting.co.uk/newsblog/nurturing-grassroots-bringing-capacity-building-and-leadership-development-support-to-community-interest-companies-and-smaller-community-support-groups
