About this Funding:
The School for Social Entrepreneurs has announced that the Social Investment Gateway Programme is open for applications. The free 12-month programme is for charities, social enterprises and community organisations in England that want to strengthen trading and move closer to social investment readiness. SSE is a national charity supporting social leaders and community organisations through learning, funding and practical support.
The programme will support around 75 leaders across four cohorts. Participants will receive diagnostic support, cohort learning sessions, business support panels, investor connections and peer coaching. Funding may also be available through either a Match Trading™ grant of up to £18,000 or a repayable grant of up to £24,000.
Applicants should be organisations that:
· are based in England;
· have applied for, or plan to apply for, social investment, usually within three years;
· have an active trading model and plans to grow;
· usually have an annual income above £100,000.
The funding can be used flexibly to invest in and grow trading activity. The programme is specifically designed to help organisations strengthen their business models, financial management, governance, impact measurement, and investor readiness. It has been developed with partners to improve access for groups facing barriers to social investment, including organisations led by and for Black and minoritised communities, d/Deaf and disabled people, women and LGBTQ+ communities.
Applicants must first register their interest to receive guidance notes and the application form. Applications close at noon on Friday 17 July 2026.
