About this Funding:
The Barclays Community Sport Fund, in partnership with the Sported Foundation, is currently inviting applications for its Female Coaches for Girls Grants, aimed at increasing the number of qualified female coaches in grassroots football, tennis, and cricket.
Organisations can apply for two grants of £200 each to cover the cost of a Level 1 or equivalent coaching qualification and any additional safeguarding and first aid requirements for their chosen sport. Applications will be accepted from not-for-profit organisations including sports clubs, youth groups, charities and community organisations on behalf of their nominated coaches.
Female coaches put forward by their clubs are eligible for funding if they are:
- aged 16+ (or 18+ depending on specific course eligibility)
- already coaching girls or would like to start
- part of a club or group with women and/or girls’ provision where they would like to begin or continue coaching (e.g. current player, parent of a player, volunteer etc)
- can undertake their coaching qualification within 12 months
Applications are particularly encouraged from female coaches from diverse backgrounds and those with lived experience, helping to ensure the programme reflects the communities it serves.
Groups who have already received a grant from the Barclays Community Sport Fund can still apply.
Applications must be submitted by 4 November 2026, although the fund may close early if oversubscribed.
