This year saw the return of the ‘Football Fundraiser’, however due to a change of circumstance, our team took on the event. With only 2 weeks to plan, prep and organise, our staff worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the event was a huge success…and safe to say it was!

We were very lucky that the weather was on our side (considering the weather only 24 hours prior was pouring rain!), and the day was able to go ahead as planned. There was something for all of the family to enjoy, in a space perfectly suited for a family event. The football took place on the ‘Playfootball’ 3G pitches, which was free for anyone to watch. The support was amazing from the general public and families, and we just want to say thank you to everyone who supported and cheered on the teams.

A massive thank you to FC Garon for playing against our team, LHFC, at such short notice. It was a great game that had us on the edge of our seats right up until the final whistle blew.

A massive thank you also to Aaron, a dad of one of our well-known little heroes Ruben, for stepping up when we really needed help and leading LHFC to victory – winning 4-2!

As the day progressed, we held our first ever ‘Parents V Kids’ match, which was amazing! The turn out for this match was beyond our expectations, and it is safe to say those that took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves! It was lovely to see the families all playing together and the smiles on the pitch truly was the icing on the cake.

We then ended the day with a ‘Kids Kickabout’ and a penalty shoot-out. This match targeted the slightly older children in attendance, and it was lovely again to see them all take part in something they share an interest over. A massive thank you to Barry for organising and overseeing the penalty shoot-out, and Ian for taking control and reffing our family-matches.

On the day, we raised an amazing £1483.83! Thank you to everyone for your support.
