Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic the SAVS building is currently closed. However it is ‘business as usual’ and our services remain open and accessible.

To support our staff wellbeing and to follow Government advice, the SAVS team are working remotely. Our systems and ways of working are set up for this and we will continue to operate ‘business as usual’ where possible, to fully support the needs of the Community.

Southend’s CVS

SAVS is an independent charity known as a council for voluntary service or CVS. That means we work behind the scenes to help local charities and community groups achieve their full potential.

We do this by:

  • supporting them with training, advice and practical help
  • promoting the work they do
  • helping them raise money and spend wisely
  • keeping them informed about changes in the charity sector
  • bringing them together to exchange ideas
  • representing their views to local government, funding bodies and others.

We’ve been supporting not-for-profit groups in Southend for more than 30 years.
