Southend Vineyard Church are seeking to appoint a bookkeeper, to work together with another part time bookkeeper as a job share, to oversee the effective management of the finances of the charity. The position comes at an exciting time for Southend Vineyard as they strive to fulfil their vision of being ‘A community transformed by Jesus to bring life and hope to Southend’.
Job Overview
To ensure the financial processes of the church and charity are undertaken and maintained in accordance with good practice. We use Quickbooks accounting software.
Essential requirements
- Proven bookkeeping experience.
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Experience with accounting software ( e.g. Xero and Quickbooks).
- Microsoft Excel skills and spreadsheet creation experience
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to summarise and present to trustees
Desirable requirements
- Charity finance experience
- Experience with Quickbooks.
- Knowledge of Gift Aid and charity SORP.
- Experience supporting audits.
- Understanding of fundraising income streams.

Job Details:
- Location: SOUTHEND ON SEA, ESSEX
- Contract: Part Time ( 11 hours a week on a 12-month fixed term contract)
- Salary: £16 per hour
