SEAS provides advocacy support for vulnerable adults, the aim is to help individuals to have a voice, safeguard their rights, and empower them to make informed choices to improve their quality of life.
The formal advocacy service provides Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy, Paid Representative services, Care Act Advocacy, Independent Mental Health Advocacy, NHS Complaints Advocacy, and Financial Advocacy (for victims of financial abuse).
We provide General/Citizen Advocacy which is non statutory, and can assist with a variety of matters including assistance to access entitled disability benefits.
Additionally, the charity offers support services (availability is dependent on funding in situ), some projects support with aiding early discharge, and reducing hospital or care setting readmissions.
We also facilitate a project called Hello life, helping to reduce social isolation for persons aged 60 or over.
South Essex Advocacy Services (SEAS) support those who need help with filling out Attendance Allowance Forms. The request must be referred through
https://www.sosadvocacyhub.org/
There is a slight waiting list, as they are reliant on volunteers.
