The next meeting of Chalkwell Ward Residents Association will open with a talk on local government re-organisation by the Leader of the Council, Cllr Daniel Cowan. With the whole of Essex set to be divided into five new unitary authorities, and Southend to become part of the new South East Essex authority, elections to the new council are set for May 2027.  Cllr Cowan will fill us in with more detail on the changes and how these will affect local government in Southend.

After a short refreshment break, the second part of the meeting will update residents on the latest developments affecting the ward, as well as offering the chance to raise matters of local concern and to question our ward councillors, who regularly attend meetings.

This meeting will take place at Westcliff Baptist Church, 560 London Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, SS0 9HS, starting at 7:30pm, on Wednesday, 9th September.
