About this Funding:
The Bernard Sunley Foundation has announced that applications are open for capital projects in England and Wales. The Foundation is a family grant-making charity that awards around £4 million to projects that raise quality of life and provide better facilities for people in need.

Applicants can apply throughout the year on a rolling basis. Relevant points include:
• grants are offered at three levels: small grants of up to £5,000, medium grants of up to £20,000, and large grants of £25,000 and above;
• applicants are usually expected to have annual income below £10 million;
• projects should normally cost between £10,000 and £5 million;
• the Foundation has a strong preference for capital projects rather than core running costs.
The types of projects that can be supported include:
- Capital building projects: new constructions, extensions of buildings, or refurbishing/modernising facilities.
- Recreational spaces: such as playgrounds, sports facilities, or outdoor areas
- Vehicles like minibuses: providing transport
Applications are made through the Foundation’s online form, and applicants are expected to have their latest accounts and a project budget or contractor quote ready before applying. Applications are accepted at any time, with small grants considered monthly and others at Trustees’ meetings in March, July & November.
