Grants of up to £25,000 per year are available to UK health charities through the James Tudor Foundation’s Physical Health programme. The Foundation is a UK charity, established in 2004, that supports work to relieve sickness.

The programme supports charities that provide:

• evidence-based physical therapies;
• specialist health information for people with specific medical conditions;
• direct healthcare services for people experiencing homelessness, street sex workers and vulnerable migrants;
• emergency-response air ambulance services in areas covered by the programme.

Funding is flexible. It can be used to support a whole service or a specific project. Typical grants are £10,000 to £15,000 for 12 months. In some cases, grants may be awarded for up to three years.

Applicants must be UK registered charities delivering services in the UK. They must have an annual income below £20 million and at least five years of accounts that have been audited or independently examined. The Foundation prioritises services that are delivered free of charge or at highly subsidised rates. It also prioritises organisations that employ or work with qualified specialist professionals.

Eligible work includes:

• physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and rehabilitation for people with physical disabilities, neurodegenerative or neuromuscular conditions, or life-changing injuries;
• condition-specific information services and nurse-led helplines;
• clinical healthcare for people experiencing homelessness, street sex workers and vulnerable migrants.

There is a two-stage application process. Applicants must first complete an eligibility checker and submit an Expression of Interest. The next Expression of Interest round opens on 1 July 2026 and closes at 5pm on 31 August 2026. This round is for the February 2027 Board meeting.
