Chiquitta Bruce, Milton Ward – Sponsored by Milton Community Partnership
Time2Shine was an event first founded by the late Josephine Melville. It enabled creative art forms to be expressed in a safe and welcoming place. Josephine always had a passion for her community, especially the creative world. She would have been pleased that Time2Shine is being resurrected and will continue her legacy as Time 2 Shine: The Artist Collective.
This has been made possible by prior artists coming together, supported by the Community Builder project and The Ironworks with the purpose of continuing that vision. The new event will see a collection of various acts from spoken word, comedy, storytelling, singing and much more, all being held at The Ironworks Southend on the first Friday of every month, interested parties can contact: actime2shine@gmail.com

Kayleigh Wilkins, Victoria Ward – Sponsored by St Vincent’s Southend
Kayleigh said “I attended an event at Chaucer House run by South Essex Homes where The Art Ministry had applied for the Small Sparks Funding to run an arts and crafts event. They supplied the families with fabric bags to decorate with pens and other arts and crafts activities which were nature themed although the children could design them how they wanted. The families really enjoyed this event as it gave the children something fun to do while it was the school holidays.
They tried to run an event like this previously but unfortunately, it wasn’t successful so they were pleased to see so many families attend this one and have so much fun. The families also mentioned how they would like more events like this in the future.”
