University of Essex offering £50 for young people to join Young People’s Advisory Group

Published on: April 13, 2026

The University of Essex has recently launched an exciting opportunity for young people to join a Young People’s Advisory Group for a new mental health research programme. Members will help shape mental health research that affects young people and ensure that young people’s voices are heard. By participating, participants will receive a £50 voucher for each meeting they attend and contribute to, be involved in a large-scale research programme, and have the opportunity to develop their skills.

To be eligible, applicants should be aged 14–24, have lived experience of mental ill health, mental distress, social isolation and/or loneliness, and currently be living in Essex (including those living in Essex during term time while studying). No previous research experience is required.

Those who would like to apply can do so by clicking this link: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/YPAdvisoryGroup/
