SAVS Supported Volunteering Project Enjoy Training Session at the Gym Group Southend

Published on: April 4, 2024

SAVS Supported Volunteering Project were invited to join a bitesize training session at the Gym Group Southend. Harry @harrygammercoaching, who is a Personal Trainer at the gym, showed the team how to use the equipment properly, answered any and all questions and motivated us to keep moving.

Rachel Rooks, Supported Volunteering Manager said, “We know the benefits of taking care of ‘all’ health, mental and physical. Physical activity can help reduce the tension, stress and mental fatigue. It can leave us feeling focused and motivated and gives us a natural energy boost – who doesn’t want one of those!”

“Thank you to Harry for the warm welcome and helping to ease any anxieties”

Alongside supporting people into volunteering who have experienced mental health, the project also encourages people to get involved with their community, try new activities and take care of their health holistically. To find out more, get in touch by email svproject@savs-southend.co.uk
