Supporting Veterans Through the Forcer Protocol

Published on: November 7, 2025

SAVS Sector & Partnership Manager Jamie Langstone and Funding Support Manager Maria Hayton had the pleasure of attending Westminster on Thursday 6th November, after being kindly invited by the inspirational Claire Lilly to a Parliamentary session focused on The Forcer Protocol Review.

The Forcer Protocol is a simple yet powerful initiative designed to protect veterans and serving military personnel who go missing. Once triggered, it allows police to quickly access vital information through an online database, dramatically reducing response times and helping to save lives.

Since the introduction of Safe and Found Online, the system that powers the Forcer Protocol, several hundred lives have already been saved across the 14 police forces currently signed up. We’re delighted that our local force, Essex Police, is among them and that many more are expected to adopt the protocol by Christmas. The ultimate goal is for all UK police forces to be using the system by the end of next year.

Reflecting on the initiative, Jamie Langstone said:

“It’s been a delight to work with Claire over the past year to support her with her CIC registration and provide advice to help The Forcer Protocol develop.”

If you’re a veteran or currently serving, please take a couple of minutes to register with Safe and Found Online. This simple step ensures that, should you ever find yourself in crisis, the police can respond swiftly and effectively to keep you safe.

Likewise, if you know or support anyone who has served, please encourage them to register using the links below:
