A morning with the Crafty Crusaders at Southchurch Library

Published on: February 27, 2026

SAVS Community Builder, Eda Deramchia had a lovely visit with a local community craft group this week, the Crafty Crusaders.

She comments:

“Every session is filled with creativity, chatter, and plenty of laughter. From knitting to cross stitching, crochet and papercraft the attendees enjoy great conversations in a safe and warm space building friendship and social connections.

One member put it perfectly: “We come for the crafts, but we stay for the friendships.”

It’s amazing to see how a shared hobby can spark confidence, connection, and a real sense of belonging. Groups like this remind us how important it is to have spaces where everyone feels welcome.”

The Crafty Crusaders meet every Tuesday at Southchurch Library from 10 am to 1 pm. Open to everyone who shares a passion for crafting.

Here’s to community groups making a big difference in small, meaningful ways.
