The Ironworks Community Dinner with the Hindu Association

SAVS Community Builder, Chiquitta Bruce had a lovely time at the Ironworks Community Dinner event, hosted by the Hindu Association and with thanks to funding from the Community Investment Board.
Speaking of the event held at Leigh Community Centre, Chiquitta said:
“It was a really special evening, full of delicious food, lively dancing, and plenty of opportunities to experience and celebrate the Hindu culture together.
One of my favourite moments was watching the professional dancer perform, and then seeing others jump in when the traditional music started playing. It was wonderful to watch people getting involved and simply enjoying themselves.
Even more special was the atmosphere in the room, because even though the weather outside was gloomy, the room was the polar opposite- filled with warmth and lot’s of energy. It was lovely to observe people chatting with new faces, introducing themselves, making connections, and perhaps even forming new friendships.
There was a real sense of belonging and community that evening, with people asking why we can’t always be like this- having that mutual respect and understanding for each others differences.
A big thank you to Ami, The Hindu Association and everyone involved for putting together such a welcoming and memorable first Community Dinner event at the Leigh Community Centre. I just want to end by saying-If this is how we’re starting, I can’t wait to see what’s next!”
