An NHS Health Check is a free health assessment designed to help prevent serious conditions such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease and dementia.

During your appointment, a trained health professional will check your blood pressure, cholesterol, weight and lifestyle habits, then provide personalised advice and support to help you stay healthy.

You may be eligible for an NHS Health Check if you are aged 40 to 74, live in Southend-on-Sea, and have not already been diagnosed with heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease, high blood pressure or certain other long-term conditions.
