Join Focal Point Gallery for a contemporary ceramics workshop led by Kat Outten, where they will explore identity, silliness, colour and queerness!
In this workshop led by Kat Outten, they will be exploring ceramics through a lens of personal individuality. This special session of Blank Slate has an emphasis on playing with clay and thinking about the processes involved in making everyday objects.
Open to anyone aged 13 to 16 years. No artistic experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try something new!
About the Artist
Kat makes small-batch, handmade ceramics, incorporating their experiences as a non-binary, fat, queer, working-class person. Kat’s artistic practice involves exploring their lived experiences of politics and identity, as well as writing for the online platform, Moshly, where they review albums and gigs. They particularly enjoy teaching small ceramics workshops exploring hand-building techniques and decoration, encouraging participants to play with clay and think about the processes involved in making everyday objects.
