About this Funding:

The Community Investment Fund (CIF) provides financial support for community-led initiatives that strengthen Southend, create opportunities, reduce inequality, and promote wellbeing. This fund ensures resources are directed towards projects that make a lasting, positive impact.

Funding is available to registered charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs) and constituted groups that are delivering projects within the city of Southend.

  • Charities & CICs can apply for £100 – £15,000
  • Constituted groups can apply for up to £4,000

All projects must align closely with at least one of our four priority areas:
Thriving Communities – Strengthening connections and celebrating Southend’s diversity.
Opportunity for All – Expanding access to skills, education, and employment.
Tackling Inequity & Poverty – Supporting those facing economic and social hardship.
Wellbeing for All – Promoting mental and physical health and reducing social isolation.

Application Deadline: 31st August 2026
Project Mobilisation: By 11th January 2027
Funding Period: Funds must be spent within 12 months
