About this Funding:
The King Charles III Charitable Fund has announced that its Small Grants Programme will reopen on 5 August 2026.
The programme provides grants of up to £3,000 a year for a maximum of three years. It supports small UK non-profit organisations working in areas including the environment, countryside, education, heritage, health and social inclusion.
To be eligible, an organisation must:
- be a UK-based non-profit with an annual income of between £25,000 and £500,000;
- have been operating for at least two years;
- hold less than six months’ unrestricted reserves; and
- apply for a project with a total cost of less than £50,000.
The programme has three funding rounds each year. Each round focuses on two of the Fund’s six themes.
This round will support projects under the Education and Heritage Conservation themes.
Education
The Fund supports projects that provide education, training and employment opportunities, helping young people and adults fulfil their potential.
Examples include projects that:
- help to narrow the attainment gap;
- provide broader educational opportunities through music, the arts, sport and outdoor activities; and
- support teachers’ continuing professional development.
Heritage Conservation
The Fund supports projects that preserve historic and culturally significant buildings, protect traditional craftsmanship, and contribute to the sustainable regeneration of communities and the built environment.
Examples include projects that:
- repair or restore historic buildings, monuments and community landmarks;
- protect places of local cultural or architectural importance;
- preserve traditional crafts and building skills, such as stonemasonry, thatching, woodwork and metalwork; and
- involve local communities and volunteers in protecting and celebrating their heritage.
Competition for funding is strong. In the previous round, more than 1,400 applications were submitted and around 100 grants were awarded.
Successful applications usually demonstrate a clear benefit to the community, measurable outcomes and a strong financial need.
Applications will close at 12 noon on 19 August 2026.
Applicants must first complete an eligibility quiz. Those who meet the criteria will then receive a link to the application form.
