Eda Deramchia, Shoebury – Sponsored by Shoebury Residents Association

After a hugely successful Christmas Market last year, the Shoeburyness Christmas Market came back Bigger & Better on Saturday the 2nd of December!

What a fantastic team who put so much time & effort into the lovely festive event that brought the community together.

The festive gala hosted a range of stalls, most of them being local independent businesses that is a great way to support and empower local enterprise in the Shoebury community.

Seasonal treats & refreshments were available to the public, including mulled wine and a hog roast.

Children had the opportunity to visit Santa’s Grotto, and for a fee of only £3 they met Father Christmas and received a present. With a cost-of-living crisis, this was a really welcome addition for families, and was extremely popular throughout the whole day with the parents as well as all the children who loved their Christmas Grotto Experience.

Rhona, Judy and the whole team had this to say…

“It’s been our second year of organising the event and once again it was a total success bringing our local community together young and old.
It was a lovely day with entertainment from our local church choir and Richmond Primary school as well as the saxophone quartet from Shoeburyness high school all of them created such a magical atmosphere. We had well over 100 happy children able to visit Santa’s Grotto and the stalls holders were very happy with the constant foot fall creating a constant stream of customers. Our raffle and tombola were brilliant and we want to thank everyone who donated and bought tickets to raise money for Coast watch.

We intend to do it all again next year, already we have positive feedback from stallholders and music groups wanting to visit us next year.
Judy and I couldn’t have put on our events without the fantastic team of friends who help us not only on the day but throughout the year. We thank these special teams from the bottom of our hearts.”

Rhona and the team wanted to express their great thanks to all of the visitors who came to support the Christmas market this year and wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We would all agree that Shoebury is better at Christmas with the Christmas Fayre!

I want to thank everyone involved in this heart-warming & festive event on behalf of the Shoebury Community, and encourage every resident to support and get involved next year!
