Shoebury Matters Newsletter May 2026

Published on: June 5, 2026

The Shoebury Matters May 2026 newsletter is a community update covering local events, nature news, resident meetings and upcoming activities in Shoeburyness.

It opens with news from Gunners Park and Shoebury Ranges Nature Reserve, including nesting swans, coots and blue tits, with a reminder for visitors to stay on paths and keep dogs close to protect nesting birds.

A large section celebrates the VE Day event at the Cart and Wagon Shed on 2 May, which included a WWII talk, militaria display, Royal British Legion information, children’s activities, concerts and a remembrance ceremony.

The newsletter also highlights local community updates, including the Cart & Wagon Shed gardens, the next SRA Community Meeting on 1 June, feedback from the Shoeburyness Residents’ Association AGM, the weekly COPD drop-in, and the Rock Pool Project at East Beach on 20 June.
